Winter, Spring, or......what?

Last week I thought we were in this time period where everything kind of sucks. The biking and windsurfing hadn't started yet, but we were close. The snow was darn near gone!

Enter; largest April snow storm I have ever seen. I have to admit, all my dreams of skipping across the water on my board or flying through some trees on two wheels completely escaped my mind. All I could think about was pow pow.

Things have set up to darn near bullet proof conditions, and I am once again eagerly awaiting some warmer weather so we can get on with summer stuff.

The Kick Off Blog

So I don't really know about this whole bloggy thingy...but let's try it out. As someone who enjoys reading and learning about what weather can do to certain outdoor recreation conditions, I thought I would start up this blog to exhibit what I think will happen in the outdoors based on the weather here in the Upper Peninsula. It will focus on nordic and downhill skiing, mountain biking, and windsurfing for now, because those are mine and Jen's (my lovely wife) passions. We also love to waterski, but that doesn't seem to be quite as weather dependent.

I will post photos and stories about past sessions (if they're worth noting), so you can see what you've missed if you couldn't make it out of work.

I will try and update as frequently as possible. Feel free to suggest some things I should add or subtract.
